This is a little tent that I bought several years ago for Camden’s oldest cousin to play in. I thought it was time to introduce it to these two fiends.
For the very first time
One of my favorites
And in between everything else going on…
So where were we? Oh, that’s right…a baby
After the birth and after the initial emotional rush, Mama got out of the birthing pool and into bed with little one. Here she fed him for the very first time and continued to snuggle and breath in his glorious scent. After about an hour, it was time to get all the measurements and baby check. Of course he got weighed but he got measured from head to tippy toe. His head got measured and certain items were checked to make sure they ‘descended’. The amount of hair was again remarked upon. When I looked at the time, I was amazed at how fast everything had gone. From leaving our house at 8pm to Baby’s birth at 11:10pm, that was a fast labor!
Welcome to our new home!
Many things have changed in the last 48 hours in our lives. Most importantly, a new little guy has joined the family who will bring so much love and laughter to his Mama and Daddy. Now, to his older brother, he’s just Baby. And he’s always on Mama’s lap. And Day TWO has brought both good moments and bad moments. But Camden is a little trouper and he’s handling as best as an almost two year old can. With grace and tantrums.
The new one, Baby, or as the State of Nevada will know him, Colter, is currently napping with Mama. Camden is also napping freeing Mimi up to prepare the new blog. Originally, he was announced as Layton Colter but that changed overnight after more Mama and Daddy discussions. While we all love the name and we have absolutely no say in the naming of, the majority of us love the name Colter. Colter has very special meaning to Mama’s side of the family. And Daddy says that Baby just looks like a Colter rather than a Layton. And even that got changed to Leyton. See? I told you that many things have changed around here!
Colter was born at home Saturday night in the bedroom that he will grow up in. His bedroom will now get decorated with little boy things and the birthing pool is gone. I’m sure that by the time he’s nine or ten, he’ll try to talk his parents into bringing back that tub for his room to make his hospital born brother jealous.
I will be bringing photos of these two little gents daily either together or separately. The only time that I might not post anything is when we’re traveling and I may not have access to wifi. This happens a few times a year.
So, on with the show!
More tomorrow…
